● Efficient Insulation
Flexible pre-insulated pipes are manufactured in a series of continuous processes anduse CFC-free polyurethane foam with excellent thermal conductivity of λ≤0.021W/mK at 50°C. The insulation layer has a lower thermal conductivity than conventional rigid steel pre-insulated pipes (λ=0.026 W/mK), so FiberFlex can reduce heat loss in all specifications. In particular, when compared to typical PE-Xa flexible pre-insulated pipes, the FiberFlex system has a thicker insulation layer, which can reduce heat loss by up to 17% and is even better when compared to non-bonded pipes.
Whether flexible pre-insulated pipes need to be installed together in trenches with existing pipes, or planned around obstacles such as trees or buildings, the flexibility of the pipes simplifies the design and installation of district heating networks and increases adaptability. In addition, flexible pre-insulated pipes can be designed and installed without the need for complex thermal expansion loops or thermal compensators, resulting in a more cost-effective and efficient system.
